Exercises
Students were to conduct research and insight of Art Direction and leadership
within a broad range of creative area. Data analysis, examples and explanation
should reflect the importance of art direction and why it should not be unstated
in a project.
- Good and bad art direction
- Case study analysis
For this exercise, I conducted a total of three game observational studies.
i) Fun Run 4

Week 3
For this exercise, I chose games with similar gameplay styles, particularly
focusing on running and endless running mechanics. I played these games
multiple times, paying close attention to the finer details in their design
and functionality. Throughout the process, I questioned my initial
impressions and tried to view the games from different perspectives,
analyzing how different elements contribute to the overall experience. I
also referred back to one of my previous favourite games, Dragon City, as I
believe it pioneered certain aspects of UI/UX design that continue to
influence modern games. This comparison helped me gain a deeper
understanding of how user interfaces and experiences can shape player
engagement.
