Task 1: Game Design Document
Design and create a 2D side-scrolling/platformer game. Use the game design document (GDD) as a blueprint, containing all necessary information and visual references. While a sample GDD is provided, research is expected to determine additional content items for your own GDD.

Task Requirements:
1. Complete all exercises to demonstrate technical knowledge required for platformer game development. [refer to Lecture and Exercises]
2. Submit reflective studies on your E-portfolio documenting your learning process.
3. Submit the game design document in Google Doc or PDF format.

Feedback

Week 3
Focus and try to be specific in designing and creating on the game mechanics and gameplay. While the UI design and elements of the game were advised to be sketched or obtained from online resources as references for visualisation during our next discussion with Mr. Razif. Mr. Razif also emphasised that complete character and UI design will only be conducted after the discussion and carried out during Task 2 of this module.

Week 4
Overall, the ideation is good; however, Mr. Razif suggests that my work does not meet the standards and expectations for a 4-week task in terms of quality. He advised that I should have included more details about the game mechanics and gameplay in our game design document. Additionally, it should have included more references and images for visualization to give Mr. Razif a clearer concept.

Reflection

Initiating this project was a significant challenge for me, as I am not a fan of games and haven't played any in the past decade. Additionally, my previous experience with Unity was discouraging, which affected my confidence and progress.

Despite the looming deadline, I was able to develop my own game design document, detailing the game mechanics and gameplay. However, I am very concerned about how to bring it to reality, especially regarding the game's assets. There are limited options for consistent images and assets, and I question whether I can fully control and utilize Unity to complete this module requirement.
