Intercultural Design - Final Project: Visual Design
14 Feb 2023 - 28 Feb 2023 (Week 6 - Extended Week)
During our meeting, we discussed what we wanted to communicate to our audience
about graffiti art and its culture. We identified the research objectives of the
three data collection methods we had previously used and decided to present our
final visual outcome in the poster to achieve these objectives.
To allow for more creativity, we decided not to work on the poster together and
instead work individually to create our own unique designs . So each member
could bring their own ideas and perspectives to the project. Finally, we
will compare and choose one for the final submission and presentation.
Before creating the poster, I looked for various art styles that could inspire
me. Fig 1.2 shows the references that I found useful in creating my own poster.
The two poster layouts were inspired by old newspapers and blogger layouts. The contrast between the colorful graffiti and the newspaper background catches the reader's attention, while the minimal art style keeps the design simple and easy to read. The layout of the poster on the right was inspired by our design journey documented on our blogger.
The poster on the left was designed by team member Yap Wai Kei, while the poster on the right was designed by Lim Rui Ying.
