Project 1: Collage
Reflection
It was such a great moment when conducting this project as it was quite easy
for newbies like me in Creative Media courses. The favourite part of this
project I think is when we are required to prepare a physical collage. It was
fun as we can physically handmade after graduated from our secondary school.
Thus, it was giving a deja vu moment. I like the concept of collage is that we
able to put our ideas, everything that's in our brain into one piece of paper
or art board. For me, it was like a vision board, a board that show reminds
ourself what we need to do now and what we wanted to achieve in the
future.
When comes to work in digital collage, I was quite blurred and frustrated.
This is due to the zero experience in using the tools to select the portion
from the original image. However. when I came across those difficulties, I
found it fun to played with as we can have different compositions using the
same subject. This is what doing physical collage couldn't achieve when we
unintentionally break the pieces or paste it on a board. While playing with
the adjustment layers and filters, I was impressed that we are able to change
the subject into different colours using different blending tools in the
meantime without ruining any of the original images.
